Room for Healing ("we," "us," "our") respects the privacy of everyone who visits room4healing.org or shares information with us — donors, hospital partners, volunteers, and families alike. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.
Information we collect
We collect information only when you choose to share it with us, through:
- Donations — processed through Zeffy, our donation platform. Zeffy collects your name, email, payment information, and donation amount directly; we receive your name, email, and gift details, but never your full payment/card information.
- Hospital partnership requests — name, title, hospital name, email, phone, and any details you share about your facility.
- Volunteer sign-ups — name, email, phone, city or community, nearest hospital, and areas of interest.
- Direct contact — anything you share with us by email or phone.
How we use your information
- To process donations and send tax receipts
- To respond to hospital partnership inquiries
- To match volunteers with opportunities near them
- To send occasional updates about Room for Healing's work, if you've given us a way to reach you
- To meet our legal and financial reporting obligations as a registered nonprofit
We do not sell, rent, or trade your information to anyone, for any reason.
Who we share information with
We use a small number of trusted service providers to operate:
- Zeffy — processes online donations and donor information
- Netlify — hosts our website and securely stores submissions from our hospital and volunteer forms
We may share a volunteer's contact information with a partner hospital solely to coordinate a specific kit delivery, and only with that volunteer's knowledge. We do not share donor or volunteer information for marketing purposes with any outside organization.
Cookies and tracking
Our website does not currently use advertising or tracking cookies. Our donation form (embedded from Zeffy) and hosting provider (Netlify) may use limited essential cookies required for those services to function — for example, to process a secure payment. If we add analytics tools in the future, we'll update this policy to reflect that.
Data retention
We retain donation and tax receipt records as required by IRS recordkeeping rules for nonprofit organizations. Volunteer and hospital inquiry information is kept only as long as needed to respond to your request or maintain an active volunteer relationship, unless you ask us to delete it sooner.
Your choices
You can ask us at any time to:
- Tell you what information we have on file for you
- Correct inaccurate information
- Delete your information, where we're not required to retain it for legal or tax purposes
- Stop receiving communications from us

Children's privacy
Our website and programs are not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13.
Changes to this policy
As Room for Healing grows, this policy may be updated. We'll revise the effective date above whenever changes are made.
